• What is IP?

So, let's say your computer gives out its own personal number, and now all communication with other computers (downloading any files, walking through web pages, etc.) goes exclusively through it.

What is this numbering? This is the so-called IP address, and absolutely every device that has access to the world wide web has it.

    What is an IP address

These are some numbers, suppose (this is, let's say, the address of a PC that is not connected to the network). But other computers will see these numbers a little differently, namely in the form of 0 and 1. Namely, 011111110000000000000000000001.

These figures can be compared, for example, with the data of your passport, because by these numbers, other computers will understand where you need to send data and where the request came from.

    What IP they are

    • The local IP address, as a rule, is assigned to your computer in order to gain access to resources within your provider's local network. Local addresses usually have the following form: 192.168.xxx.xxx or 10.xxx.xxx.xxx or 172.xxx.xxx.xxx. Instead of x, you can see absolutely any number from zero to 255.
    • External IP address is absolutely any other address, like xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxx, where xxx is any other number from zero to 255, this is a general case, but there are also exceptions from this rule. For example, the IP address is the address that is used by almost any PC for business purposes.

Absolutely all sites on the Internet have an external IP address. It is between any of these addresses and yours, as a result, and the interchange of data that we are seeing on the screen, whether it be music, text or games, occurs.

Even if your computer has only an internal IP address recorded, it is still your computers access to the Internet that will occur through the external IP address.

Ways to get it from different providers are completely different. For example, by connecting to a VPN server (VPN server), your PC will receive not only a local address, but also an external address.

There are also options for entering the external network, using the help of the so-called "intermediaries", some specialized servers, such as, NAT and Proxy. Such services are provided by the provider itself, or by people who understand quite well in server administration.

It also happens that an ordinary PC user, according to his ignorance, launches such a service here, and, ultimately, can lose a day, because unfair users will get access to the network through it. But with the proliferation of unlimited tariff plans, this is no longer so relevant.

Well, in order to find out your personal IP address, you need to run the command line (Start menu - Programs - Accessories - Command line), and then type IPconfig in it.

What can I learn by IP

By IP address you can find the country, well, it is in the worst case, but in general you can find the city (unless of course the city is big enough). After, through very in-depth queries, you can find the provider (or more precisely, the legal entity to whom the IP is reserved). And on this all! Further, either special services can go through or the provider itself will issue this information. The thing is that with providers that do not give you a permanent IP, this information will be available only in the logs of the provider itself. Well, if you received a personal IP from the provider, then you can get information about you, already without the provider.

IP for what you need? Now you know the answer to this question, and what IP is, because without it, there will be nothing, that is, without it you cant get on the Internet without it.
