    How to mount a disk image?

    The ability to save and run images of optical disks in virtual drives allows you to significantly save time and partially eliminates the need to purchase a physical drive. You can mount an existing disk image through a variety of programs.

    UltraISO

    This easy-to-use and resource-consuming utility allows you to create both disk images and mount them into a virtual drive. To work, you can download it to the manufacturer (for a fee or for a limited time) or get a pirated version (for example,).

    The process of mounting in UltraISO is as follows:

    1. run the program;
    2. open the “Tools” menu;
    3. click on the link "Mount to a virtual drive ...";
    4. in the window that opens, click the "..." button near the "Image File" field;
    5. find and open the required image on the hard disk;
    6. click the "Mount" button;
    7. when “Download” appears in the “Virtual CD / DVD drive” field, press the “Back” button;
    8. close the program window.

    Now our disk is mounted in a virtual drive. The operating system will assume that a real CD or DVD has been inserted. Access to it is carried out in any explorer (for example, Total Commander or system).

    To “extract” such a disk is enough:

    1. run the program;
    2. open the “Tools” menu;
    3. click on the link "Mount to a virtual drive ...";
    4. press the "Unmount" button;
    5. when “Eject” appears in the “Virtual CD / DVD drive” field, click the “Back” button (or mount another image before it);
    6. close the program window.
