How to Make a Root Beer Frost

How to Make a Root Beer Frost

Root beer frost is an easy to make slushy root beer drink that is especially quenching on hot, dry days. Taking only 40-50 minutes for freezing, plus a few minutes preparation time, it's a great treat for anyone who loves root beer.

Ingredients

  • Can of root beer; one can of root beer makes a little over a can of root beer frost
  • Toppings (optional)
  • Extra ice (optional)

Steps

  1. Pour the can of root beer into a freezable container.A plastic cup, a metal jug, etc., will work.
  2. Place the container in the freezer for 30-40 minutes, or until the root beer turns into soft ice.Freezers and their temperatures vary, so keep checking to know how long it takes for your freezer.
  3. Remove the container from the freezer.Break up the root beer ice using a butter knife or similar item. Breaking up the ice is mandatory, as it prepares the drink for the blender, creating smaller pieces. This is why you don't want to leave the root beer in the freezer too long - it'll be extremely hard to break into pieces.
  4. Place the pieces of frozen root beer into the blender. This is another reason why you don't want to leave the root beer in the freezer too long - ice that is too hard and large can harm your blender.
  5. Blend on medium to high until the root beer ice becomes a smooth, frosty root beer drink. If it's not frosty enough (namely, if it doesn't have enough ice), blend some extra ice in. Don't add too much ice though, as its wateriness will lessen the strength of the root beer taste.
  6. Pour the root beer frost into a cup, glass, or mug.If wished, add optional toppings. Serve and enjoy.
