• How to make a gate from a professional sheet with your own hands

    Tools and materials for the manufacture of gates from the profiled sheet

    The design of the door must be reliable and durable, so for their manufacture should use quality materials. There is a wide range of professional flooring grades on the market that differ in density, size and even quality of the coating. For the formation of the doors of the gate is best suited thick professional sheet, meaning under the marks S-20 and HC-21. The best option would be a painted profiled sheet, although material with such a coating is a bit more expensive.

    Planning the gates of corrugated

    Before you start working on a new gate, you should make a sketch on paper. This will determine the exact dimensions of the individual elements of the frame and the number of corrugated board required to create the two wings. A well-designed plan for the future gate minimizes the consumption of necessary materials.

    The first step is to determine what size the future gate should be in height and width. It is necessary to take into account not only the needs that are currently available, but also possible future nuances, for example, the need to supply construction material to the yard with the help of heavy machinery. In addition, the sheeting itself refers to those types of materials that it is undesirable to additionally cut, so as not to worsen the anti-corrosion properties of the coating.

    In most cases, for a country house or a cottage, a height of 150 cm is sufficient. When considering the width of sheeting and possible future needs, most novice welders prefer gates of 4 m width. The height of the gate leaves can be very diverse. It is recommended to make a gap to the ground of at least 20 cm under the doors when installing frame gates from a profiled sheet so that in case of winter heaving there is no bias.Thus, the total height of the gate will be about 175 cm.

    When planning the gate should pay special attention to the length of the supporting pillars. In order to achieve structural stability, the supporting pillars should have both aboveground and underground parts. If the height of the gate leaves is approximately 1.5 m, then the height of the supporting pillars must be at least 2 meters 70 cm.

    Thus, the underground part will be approximately 1 m 20 cm. This will make the gate more stable.     To manufacture one sash from a profiled 40H20mm pipe, 2 sections of 150 mm each will be required, as well as 3 sections of 2 m each. In addition, elements that will be braced and reinforce the entire structure must be cut from a profiled pipe with a diameter of 20x20 mm.For the second flap, it is necessary to prepare in advance the same number of necessary elements.

    Making the frame for the gate

    Given that the profiled flooring is a fairly flexible material, for the manufacture of the gate from it should take care of a reliable frame. It is necessary to prepare in advance the place where the individual elements will be welded. This is especially important for people with no welding machine experience. It is best to conduct welding on a flat surface, for example, on a sheet of fiberboard or on a table.

    Welding of individual elements should be carried out with electrodes with dimensions ranging from 2 to 3 mm. First you need to lay out the frame elements on a flat surface, and then grab the joints by welding. Corner ruler should check how the corners turned out to be straight.

    If necessary, you can align the structure with a light tap on the corners with a hammer. When the frame frame sash will be aligned, you can start a full welding. It must be remembered that the weld, which is designed to connect the two elements of the framework of the gate, should be done with light shuttle movements across the joint.

    After all the welds have been welded, it is necessary to clean them from scale, and then, thoroughly process them with a grinder. The last boil over braces, which are necessary in order for the design to be more rigid and resistant to environmental factors.

    Finished sash frames must be properly laid out on a flat surface, with columns placed next to them, in order to determine the fastening points of cylindrical reinforced hinges. After this, the hinge elements are welded. In the future, this will allow you to easily put ready-made shutters on the already installed supporting posts. In addition, it is necessary to weld the elements necessary for fixing the constipation or installing a lock.

    Sheathing frame profiled

    Profiled sheeting is mounted on the finished sash frame. So that in the future, in case of wind gusts, the skin does not make unpleasant sounds, thin rubber pads should be laid between the frame and corrugated flooring.

    Fastening corrugated made with screws. It is first necessary to make holes in the trim material and frame. Fastening the first sheet of corrugated sheet should be carried out so that its edge completely hides the side rail of the sash.

Before installing the pillars, it is necessary to treat them with anti-corrosion impregnation and paint. Further work can be carried out only after the coating is completely dry.

    First you need to properly mark up to determine the exact location of future support pillars. Despite the fact that the doors of corrugated flooring are light weight, be sure to make a foundation under them. First, with the help of a hand-held drill, a depression of 1 m 25 cm is made.

    About 5 cm of sand and about 10 cm of rubble should be filled into the holes. After that, a small amount of concrete should be carefully poured into the hole and wait until it hardens. Next is the installation of the pillars of the gate.Using the building level, you need to carry out their alignment.

    After that, the supporting pillars of the future gate are filled with concrete. Further work on the installation of the valves can be carried out only after solidification of the base. In most cases it takes at least 7 days.

    Installation of gate leaves

    It is best to hang the sash on the frame of the gate with an assistant. This will avoid deformation and damage to the outer sheeting of the corrugated sheet. First, the sash should be put on the loop. Before you fix them in the right position, be sure to test. Attention should be paid to the uniformity of the gap between the flaps and the evenness of the upper edge. If all work is done correctly, you can lubricate the loops, and then fix them. At this stage you need to install the lock.

    After the gate is fully installed, work should be carried out to create a corrosion-resistant coating for all metal elements. First of all, with the help of sanding paper, it is necessary to clean up the rust, if any. Next is the primer of all metal surfaces and put a layer of paint.
