• How to delete a folder in Windows 7?

    You can delete files and folders in different ways. When the usual way to get rid of the folder fails, you can try more clever tricks or even use special software. In this article we will explain how you can delete a folder in Windows 7.

    Normal removal

    The easiest way to delete a folder is to send it to the trash. To do this, click on the folder with the right mouse button and select the item "Delete". You can also select a folder and press the [Del] key. Or, finally, just drag it to the trash if the folder is on the desktop.

    Deleted folders can be restored from the recycle bin. But there is also the possibility to permanently delete a folder: to do this, select it and press the [Shift] + [Del] keys. Keep in mind that with such a deletion it will not be possible to recover the folder, so use this method with caution.

    How to delete a deleted folder

    Sometimes a folder can not be deleted. Most often this happens because the files in this folder are open in some program. Try to close all applications or even restart your computer.

    If this does not help, you can delete the folder to be deleted in Windows 7 using the command line. Open the “Start” menu, select “All Programs> System Tools” and click on the “Command Prompt” link. At the command prompt, type the following command:

Unlocker command is added directly to the context menu,so after installing this program, just click on the problem file, right-click and select the appropriate item.

    Another similar program is FileASSASIN. To delete a locked file, simply drag it to the program window, check all the options in the “Attempt FileASSASIN's method of file processing” box and click the “Execute” button. After that, the locked file will be deleted, and you will be able to get rid of the folder that stored it in the usual way.
